“The fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing.”

A little more about me…
I import and export ideas, so like the fox I know and do many things.
I write about arts and culture.
I’ve taught folks how to be better humans.
I’ve researched the interesting things that happen when people interact.
If SparkNotes and CliffsNotes were a person, they’d be me. Except, they’d be less exciting.
I specialize in making social sciences and government sound less boring and more relatable.
Let me assist you in researching and writing your next report or big speech.
My Credentials
Most recently, I served as Communications Manager in the Office of San Diego City Council President.
And for 10+ years, I’ve lectured at the college level, teaching students how to give presentations and make friends.
Naturally, I have all the friends and talk goodly.
I also write about San Diego’s art scene for Vanguard Culture.
Previously, I have…
Won multiple awards for my writing, a big data hackathon and a UX Competition.
Drafted the State of the City address for the mayor, speaking points for City leaders, a TEDx talk and college commencement addresses.
Researched, written, edited and designed work plans as well as presentations for local government on economic development issues, ranging from Smart Cities to Urban Agriculture to Age-Friendly Communities.
Served as a research and writing consultant to San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation to create the first report on San Diego’s creative economy.
Spoken about workforce development issues, particularly internships in higher education, to San Diego State University Career Services and the San Diego Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
I graduated with my master’s and cum laude with my bachelor’s in Communication from San Diego State University. I was also the first in my family to graduate from college, and work a white collar job.
Once a professor called me a “Renaissance man,” I try to live up to that every day.
